Any "Scrubs" fans out there? We thought it was funny that this was the same hospital name...
Today we drove an hour and a half down to Yankton, SD to see Mount Marty College. This is the school Levi will be attending for his Master's in Nurse Anesthesia, however his classes will be in Sioux Falls where there are several large hospitals. There are 40 students in his program, half are men and half are women. He starts orientation next Thursday (Aug 23) so as a family we are gearing up for the whole experience. We walked through the campus, and for those of you from KC it is about the 3/4 the size of William Jewell College. It is a private catholic college, with beautiful rolling hills, in a nice quiet little town. We all went to the bookstore and got Tshirts, visited with the lady working there (or should I say Marcus visited with the lady). We shouldn't have a hard time meeting new people with "chatty kathy" (Marcus) in the midst.
After we left the campus we drove about 5 miles to Lewis and Clark Lake, it was very pretty and an extremely large lake. There were lots of people boating, fishing, camping, swimming...looked like lots of fun! On the way home we stopped in Vermillion, where the University of South Dakota is. Levi wanted to go inside the Dakota Dome, so there is a pic of that above. We stopped at McD's and had some lunch, then got back on the road to go home. One thing we are learning is that although it's tiresome to take everybody out, it is necessary to teach them manners in public, and it is usually a really fun time...even at the end of the day when Mommy spills ketchup all over her clothes at McDonalds. You just brush it off and move on!
